Abstract
A Clinical study was made on 31 cases of canine operation at the Veterinary Clinic of the10th Aeromedical Group, Suwon Air Base, during the period of January, 1970 to December, 1971.
The results were as followings:
1. The ratio of male to female was 2.4:1, and the highest age group was under 12 months (54.9%).
2. Eighteen cases had been operated under general anesthesia.
3. Although there were several different blood groups in dog, the frequency of untoward transfusion reactions was almost neglizable, because the blood group compatibility was not necessary after the injection of low molecular weight dextran (10cc/kg) or the brief refrigeration of blood few hours prior to transfusion.
4. The postoperative complications were in 5 cases (16.1%) and all of these were minor wound infections.
5. The Postoperative prognosis was excellent in the cases of early surgical intervention.
